Jerusalem-style sweet couscous, cottage cheese and honey dessert
Ingredients
  • 250 g of couscous
  • 550 g cottage cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 150 g low fat butter plus for the mold
  • 50 g almond petals
  • ground cinnamon
  • salt

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
Pour boiling water over the couscous and leave for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Wipe the curd sieve, preferably twice. Mix with 2-3 tbsp. l honey, depending on the dryness of the cottage cheese.
Step 3
Beat the egg until smooth with a small pinch of salt. Combine couscous, draining excess liquid, butter and egg mixture. Place half in a greased, heat-resistant round dish with a diameter of 20-22 cm.
Step 4
Layer the curd and top with the rest of the couscous. Smooth and bake in the oven at 200 ° C, 15-18 minutes. Take out the form and leave until use.
Step 5
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the remaining honey and 100-150 ml of water. Boil at a low boil, 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Pour the honey syrup over the dessert and top with the almonds toasted in a dry skillet. Let it brew for at least 1 hour and serve.
