In Ossetia, such pies are made for a wedding or other important holidays - therefore, the recipe contains exactly such proportions for a large number of guests. But you can easily cut them in half.

Ingredients
  • 600 g flour
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 8 yolks
  • 100 g of honey
  • 150 ml of milk
  • 120 g butter
  • 3 tbsp. l. vegetable oil
  • 20 g fresh or 10 g dry yeast
  • 50 g raisins
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 egg for brushing
  • 300 g apricot jam
  • 100 g shelled walnuts
  • 50 g butter
  • 70 g of sugar
  • 150 g flour

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
For dough, combine warm milk, yeast, salt and half flour. Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Then add warmed honey, sugar, yolks and vegetable oil to the dough, knead until smooth. Melt the butter. Gradually add the remaining sifted flour into the dough, knead until smooth. Add oil and raisins. Knead again. Cover and place the dough in a warm place for 1.5-2 hours.
Step 2
Chop the nuts finely for the filling. Heat the jam slightly to thin it and mix with the nuts.
Step 3
Divide the risen dough into 2 parts. Roll one piece into a flat cake so that it covers the edges of the mold and place in the mold.
Step 4
Spread the jam stuffing with nuts over the dough and cover with the second flat cake, rolled out in the same way. Connect and pinch the edges.
Step 5
For sprinkling, chop the butter and flour with a knife so that you get crumbs. Add sugar and stir quickly. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with flour crumbs. Prove in a warm place for 30-40 minutes.
Step 6
Bake in an oven preheated to 160–170 ° C until a dark brown crust appears. Cool before serving.
