Boiled egg croquettes with ham and cheese

Boiled egg croquettes with ham and cheese
Ingredients
  • 5 eggs
  • 40 g boiled ham
  • 30 g cheese (gouda, emmental)
  • 30 g flour + flour for breading
  • 150 ml of milk
  • 30 g butter
  • breadcrumbs
  • vegetable oil
  • salt, freshly ground black pepper

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
1. Boil 4 hard-boiled eggs, rinse with cold water and peel. Cool eggs and chop finely.

2. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add flour and fry, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes. Pour in milk gradually and cook the sauce, stirring often, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly.

3. Cut the ham into small cubes. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

4. Combine boiled eggs, ham and cheese with sauce, salt, pepper and stir.

5. Roll small balls from the resulting mass with wet hands.

6. In a bowl, beat the remaining egg. Pour flour on one plate and breadcrumbs on the other. Dip the croquettes in flour, then in an egg, and roll in breadcrumbs.

7. Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan and fry the croquettes until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to transfer prepared croquettes to crumpled paper towels to remove excess grease. Serve the croquettes hot.
