Champurrado Mexican drink
Champurrado is a type of Mexican hot chocolate. The real champurrado is sweet, not spicy, and thicker than regular hot chocolate due to the addition of corn flour.
Ingredients
- 250 ml of milk
- 200 ml of water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 30 g corn flour
- 50 g of sugar
- 100 g dark chocolate
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
In a small saucepan, combine milk and water.
Step 2
Add cinnamon and nutmeg, stir. Place on the stove and bring to a boil.
Step 3
Add the sifted cornmeal and sugar with constant stirring. The mixture should thicken, so bring everything to the desired consistency over low heat.
Step 4
Add the chopped chocolate to the mixture and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and pour into circles.
