Cinnamon rolls

Delightful cinnamon rolls with cheese topping are as delicious as the famous cafe.

Ingredients
  • 120 g cream cheese
  • 60 g butter
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 200 g of brown sugar
  • 2.5 tbsp. l. ground cinnamon
  • 80 g butter
  • 200 ml of milk
  • 80 g butter
  • 2.5 tsp dry active yeast
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 3.5-4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
Heat milk to 30 ° C. Melt the butter and cool slightly. Dissolve the yeast in 2-3 tbsp. l. warm milk and leave for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Combine milk, butter, eggs and sugar, add yeast at the end. Pour in 3.5 cups of sifted flour and salt and knead the dough. Knead the dough - it should be soft and slightly sticky. Add more flour if necessary.
Step 3
Roll the dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl. Tighten the bowl with plastic wrap, place in a warm place and let the dough rise twice.
Step 4
For the filling, combine brown sugar, cinnamon and softened butter.
Step 5
Roll out the dough into a 40x50 cm rectangle. Grease it with the filling.
Step 6
Roll the dough into a roll, starting on the long side. Cut the roll into 18 pieces and place the buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet, 1.5–2 cm apart. Cover with a napkin and leave for 30 minutes until the buns are doubled in size.
Step 7
Preheat oven to 200 ° C. Bake the buns for 15 minutes, until golden brown. Remove the buns and cool slightly on a baking sheet, covering with a napkin.
Step 8
For the frosting, beat the cream cheese and butter at room temperature until smooth. Add the powdered sugar, a pinch of salt and vanilla extract and whisk again. Apply the frosting to warm buns and set.
