Moussaka
Ingredients
  • 500 g minced lamb (I have beef)
  • 3 eggplants and 3 tomatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 5 mint leaves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • ground nutmeg on the tip of a knife
  • 100 ml dry white wine
  • 0.5 cups flour
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp. l. butter
  • 3 branches of parsley
  • 0.5 cups of grated cheese

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Wash the tomatoes and cut into cubes. Wash and dry mint leaves. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add the onion, fry for 7 minutes. Add minced meat, stir and fry for 10 minutes. Add tomatoes, garlic, mint, bay leaf, coriander, nutmeg. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Pour in wine, stir and bring to a boil. Remove from heat immediately, drain off excess liquid, cover and set aside.
Step 3
Heat the olive oil in a separate skillet. Fry eggplants in it - 1 min. from each side. Place them on napkins to remove excess grease.
Step 4
Put half of the fried eggplants in rows in a deep refractory dish. The circles should overlap a little. Put half of the prepared minced meat on top. Smooth the surface and lay the second layer of eggplant and the second layer of minced meat on top. Smooth the surface again.
Step 5
Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Wash parsley, dry and chop finely. Heat the butter in a saucepan. Add flour and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.
Step 6
Pour an egg into warm milk and mix thoroughly. Add to a saucepan and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Add grated cheese and herbs. Stir and remove from heat.
Step 7
Spread the sauce evenly over the entire surface of the moussaka. Place the moussaka dish in the oven and bake for 25 minutes.
