Salted green tomatoes with mustard

Delicious pickles made from green tomatoes. It can be stored in a cold place for about two weeks, but it is not stored because it is quickly eaten.

  • small green tomatoes 5 kg
  • garlic head 2 pcs.
  • dill dry stems and umbrellas 1 bunch (a)
  • brine
  • sugar 1 cup (s)
  • salt 0.5 glass (s)
  • mustard powder 50 g
  • black peppercorns 1 tsp
  • allspice peas 1 tsp


Step 1
Wash the tomatoes, chop in several places with toothpicks. Peel and cut the garlic into wedges, dill into large pieces. Place the tomatoes in an enamel bucket or saucepan, sprinkle with garlic and dill.
Step 2
Dissolve salt, sugar in water, add spices and boil. After the brine has cooled, add mustard to it, stir and let it brew. When the brine becomes transparent, pour over the tomatoes. Put a clean cloth and oppression on top.
Step 3
Keep the tomatoes warm for 2 - 3 days, then put them in a cold place for 3 days. And you can taste it. Very tasty with boiled potatoes, with meat dishes and chicken, as part of salads and vinaigrettes. Store cold.
