Snack squares with tomatoes

Puff pastry snack squares are always welcome: you can serve them at a party to guests, bring them to work and treat your colleagues, or just bake them for a family weekend. The filling can be varied as you like, our Mediterranean-style version is tomato, feta and olives.

Snack squares with tomatoes
  • 500 g of unleavened puff pastry
  • 200-250 g cheese (gouda, edam)
  • 200 g feta cheese
  • 10 cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup olives
  • basil leaves


Step 1
Remove the dough from the refrigerator in advance and defrost it if it has been frozen.
Step 2
Cut the tomatoes into thin slices. Grate cheese on a fine grater, crush feta. Chop the olives coarsely.
Step 3
Preheat oven to 200 ° C. Unroll the puff pastry and cut into 30 squares or rectangles. Transfer the pieces to baking sheets lined with baking paper.
Step 4
Sprinkle each square with grated cheese, put a few circles of tomato, sprinkle with olives and feta. Place the baking sheets in the oven and bake the squares until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
Step 5
Decorate the squares with basil leaves and serve warm or completely cooled.
