Poppy cakes
Nalistniki with poppy seeds are traditionally prepared in Ukraine, Belarus and Poland. The most important thing in any patches is not even the pancakes themselves, but the filling, which can be absolutely anything - sweet or savory. By the way, nalniks should be very thin so that the filler is not "lost" in them.
Ingredients
- milk - 0.25 liters
- chicken egg - 1.5 pieces
- salt - a pinch
- flour - 100 g
- jam, condensed milk or sour cream - for serving
- poppy - 75 g
- sugar - 30 g
- butter - 15 g
- vanillin - on the tip of a knife
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Knead the pancake dough: combine milk, eggs, granulated sugar (1 tsp), a pinch of salt, vegetable oil and flour. Mix everything thoroughly, the dough should be liquid.
Step 2
Bake thin pancakes in a preheated pan, they turn out to be white.
Step 3
Make a poppy seed filling: grind the poppy seeds in a coffee grinder together with sugar, add vanillin, granulated sugar. Melt the butter in a water bath, add to the poppy seed filling, mix everything thoroughly.
Step 4
Grease the finished pancakes with a thin layer of poppy filling and fold into an envelope.
Step 5
Serve with sour cream, jam or condensed milk.
