Quick Bean Hummus with Ginger
Hummus has somehow imperceptibly become a familiar food on our table. Classic hummus is made from chickpeas, which must be soaked for at least 12 hours and then boiled for at least another hour. Try the quick option - canned beans!
Ingredients
- 2 cans (400 g each) white beans
- 4 tbsp. l. sesame paste tahini
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 2 cm fresh ginger root
- juice and zest of half a lemon
- olive oil
- 1 tbsp. l. cumin seeds
- chili flakes
- salt, freshly ground black pepper
- pita for serving
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Throw the beans in a colander, rinse with cold water if desired.
Step 2
Whisk the tahini sesame paste, half the garlic, lemon juice, some drinking water, zest, salt and pepper with about 100 ml of olive oil. Combine with beans and whisk with a hand blender. Place hummus in bowls. Make a small indentation in the center.
Step 3
Peel and finely chop the remaining garlic and ginger. In a small skillet, lightly heat 6-7 tbsp. l. olive oil, put ginger, garlic and cumin. Fry over low heat, stirring often so that nothing burns, about 1.5 minutes.
Step 4
Pour hot spiced oil over the bean hummus and let the oil cool completely.
Step 5
Cut the pita into triangles and dry in the oven at 200 ° C for 6–7 minutes, place on a plate or dish in a circle. Place hummus in the center.
