Chicken in sour cream

You don't have to have a lot of ingredients to make a delicious meal. From the simplest and most affordable products - chicken, onions and sour cream - you get real homemade food that you can't trade for any restaurants. Serve homemade noodles or hominy with such a chicken so that not a drop of the delicious sauce is wasted. Or just eat with bread.

Chicken in sour cream
Ingredients
  • 1 chicken, 1.5 kg
  • 250 g sour cream
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbsp. l. flour
  • 1 tsp ground sweet paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1-2 tbsp. l. butter or ghee
  • salt, freshly ground black pepper

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
Cut the chicken into portions, rub with salt and black pepper. Heat a large heavy skillet and lightly brush with melted butter. Place pieces of chicken in a skillet and fry on all sides until golden brown.
Step 2
Reduce heat to just below medium, cover skillet with lid and cook chicken for another 10 minutes. (if you have large poultry, cook it longer, 20-25 minutes). Transfer the chicken to a bowl with the resulting juices and keep warm.
Step 3
Peel the onion and cut into small cubes. Add ghee to the skillet and sauté the onions until soft over medium heat, 5-7 minutes. Then add the paprika and flour and fry, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes. Pour in 100 ml of water and add sour cream, mix well so that there are no lumps. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 4
Return the chicken to the skillet, stir gently with the sauce, add the dried thyme and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
Step 5
Peel the garlic and chop finely, add to the dish for 5 minutes. until ready. Remove the finished dish from heat and leave under the lid for another 5-10 minutes.
