Kleftiko with pork
The most famous meat dish in Cyprus.
- pork 1 kg
- dry white wine 1 glass (s)
- honey 1.5 tbsp.
- potatoes 5 pcs.
- green bell pepper 3 pcs.
- tomato 3 pcs.
- onion 3 pcs.
- feta 250 g
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Wash the pork, cut it into portions. Pour dry white wine into a large container, add honey, oregano and salt, beat slightly. Dip pieces of meat into the resulting marinade and leave to marinate for 4 hours.
You need to prepare vegetables for kleftiko. Cut the onion into half rings, slices of potatoes and tomatoes, slices of green bell pepper.
After the time has elapsed, take a parchment paper for baking and place a portion of meat on it.
Lay the chopped vegetables on the pork in layers: onions, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes. Salt the dish.
Top with sliced feta.
Tie the paper in a knot at the top and wrap with two layers of aluminum foil.
Bake kleftiko with pork in a hot oven for 20 minutes at a temperature of 180-200 ° C, then leave to languish for another 2-2.5 hours at a temperature of 120 ° C.
