Lard with bread and egg

A very budget dish that is almost always at hand. We really hope and believe that you have lard, in spite of everything. Such a hearty, nourishing omelet does not have to be cooked in the morning, it will be a very suitable meal for lunch.

Ingredients
  • 200 g of bread, better than whole grain or rye
  • 200 g lard
  • vegetable oil
  • 6 eggs
  • 150 ml of milk
  • 4-5 sprigs of parsley or cilantro

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
Cut the crusts off the bread. Cut the bread and lard into strips. Heat the oil in a cast iron pan and fry the bacon, 1-2 minutes. Do not heat it, but fry it! Add the bread and stir the contents by shaking the pan. Cook for 2 more minutes.
Step 2
Beat the eggs with milk until smooth and pour over the lard and bread mixture.
Step 3
Remove from heat and transfer the pan to an oven preheated to 180 ° C for 5-10 minutes, depending on the size of the pan. Remove the skillet from the oven. Transfer the omelet to a platter, sprinkle with finely chopped herbs and serve hot.
