Shortcrust Pie with Cranberries and Custard
Of course, proven family pie recipes are great! But sometimes I really want to cook something new. Mix, for example, custard and cranberries in the filling or bake a super banana pie. I want to? Bake!
Ingredients
- 500 g sweet shortcrust pastry
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp. l. fine brown sugar
- 250 ml of milk
- half vanilla pod seeds
- 4 yolks
- 50 g of sugar
- 20 g flour
- 2 tsp corn flour
- 400 g frozen cranberries
- 75 g of sugar
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
For the filling, heat the berries and sugar in a saucepan over low heat, stirring for 20 minutes. You should get a moderately liquid syrup. Remove from heat and cool completely.
Step 2
For the custard, beat the yolks and sugar in a large bowl until fluffy white, 2 minutes. Add all the sifted flour and 1–2 tbsp. l. milk. Whisk until smooth.
Step 3
Preheat oven to 200 ° C. In 20 min. remove the dough from the refrigerator before using it. Divide into two parts - one slightly larger than the other. Roll both into circles with a diameter of 30 and 26 cm. Place the larger circle in an ovenproof dish with a diameter of 26 cm, lined with baking paper. Place the custard around the rim and the cranberry filling in the center.
