Strawberry jelly

One of the easiest and cheapest ways to turn strawberries into a gourmet dessert is to make strawberry jelly. Calories - minimum, pleasure - maximum.

Strawberry jelly
Ingredients
  • 500 g strawberries + some more for serving
  • 5 plates of gelatin or 5 g agar-agar, for a lean dessert
  • 1 tbsp. l. lemon juice
  • 100 g caster sugar or powdered sugar

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
In a saucepan, combine chopped berries with lemon juice, sugar and 200 ml water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes, until the berries are tender.
Step 2
Pass two thirds of the berries through a sieve and squeeze the juice to the maximum. Chop the rest.
Step 3
Soak gelatin in cold water for 5-7 minutes. Squeeze, stir in hot juice and stir until dissolved. Cool completely.
Step 4
Pour the juice into four tins, add the chopped berries and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. Garnish with fresh berries and serve.
