Asian style spicy cabbage
Young cabbage cooked in Asian style is good on its own as a snack. But we recommend serving fatty meats with it, such as pork.
Ingredients
- 1 head of young cabbage
- 2 hot red chili
- 1 large bunch of root cilantro
- 4 cm fresh ginger root
- 8-10 kaffir lime leaves
- 100 ml rice or white wine vinegar
- 40 g of sugar
- 2 star anise stars
- 1 tbsp salt
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Cut the cabbage into 3 cm squares, salt and stir by hand.
Step 2
Chop the chili coarsely with the seeds and partitions. Peel and chop the ginger.
Step 3
Cut off the cilantro stems with roots (leave the leaves for serving) and rinse thoroughly to remove the sand. Dry and chop finely. Tear the lime leaves in half, removing the central vein.
Step 4
Combine all the ingredients except the cabbage in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook for 1 minute.
Step 5
Pour the boiling marinade over the cabbage and stir. Cool and refrigerate for 2 hours. Serve with fatty meat.
