Carp baked in foil
Carp baked in foil is a dish that should definitely be cooked! Firstly, the fish languishes in its own juice, so it turns out to be especially tender. Secondly, we suggest adding a very unusual filling to carp steaks, which includes almonds, raisins, garlic and orange peel. It sounds strange, but you will be pleasantly surprised by the result. And thirdly, carp baked in foil is prepared quite simply and practically does not require attention for half an hour, as it spends time in the oven. You just have to unfold the envelopes with fish, put the steaks on the plates and enjoy the wonderful meal.
Ingredients
- 1 large carp
- 50 g butter
- 50 g almonds
- 1 tbsp. l. olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic
- 50 g raisins
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp grated orange peel
- salt, freshly ground black pepper
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Prepare fish for baking. Scale the carp, remove the insides. Cut off the head and tail, you won't need them. Cut the carcass into 4 steaks 3–4 cm thick.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 200 ° C. Prepare 4 sheets of foil, brush them in the center with butter and place 1 carp steak each. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 3
For the carp filling, place the almonds in a saucepan, cover with boiling water and blanch for 3 minutes. Pour cold water over and peel off. Cut the almonds in half.
Step 4
Heat a skillet with olive oil and butter and saute the almonds until golden brown. Add finely chopped garlic and raisins, add spices and orange zest and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 5
Place the cooked almond filling on top of the carp steaks and wrap the foil in envelopes. Transfer the envelopes to a baking sheet and place in the oven, bake for 25 minutes.
Step 6
Remove the envelopes with baked carp from the oven. Divide the fish into portioned bowls and serve immediately. For a side dish, you can offer boiled potatoes.
