Christmas pudding
Traditional Christmas pudding is always baked a few weeks before Christmas, then soaked in alcohol, wrapped in paper and put away until the holiday. I always bake some of these puddings and give them to my friends for Christmas. The recipe for the pudding itself is the same, but they are decorated in different ways: icing, icing sugar, berries, or whatever you like.
Ingredients
- butter 110 g
- chopped almonds 90 g
- dry 100 g
- light raisins 110 g
- dark raisins 110 g
- dried cranberries 50 g
- prunes 100 g
- roasted hazelnuts 50 g
- sugar 170 g
- wheat flour 200 g
- baking powder 5 g
- cocoa powder 1 tbsp
- rye crumb bread 200 g
- ground ginger 3 g
- cover 5 g
- nutmeg 1/3 tsp
- vanillin 2 g
- ground cloves 2 g
- zest of one orange 1 pc.
- milk 235 g
- chicken egg 1 pc.
- cognac 500 ml
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Wash dried fruits with hot water, fold on a sieve. Then pour 200 ml. brandy and let it brew for at least a day.
Step 2
Mix all dry ingredients.
Step 3
Add dried fruits and nuts, zest and rye bread crumb.
Step 4
Add milk, then egg.
Step 5
Then oil and cognac (1 tbsp. L.). Mix well.
Step 6
Grease a baking dish with oil. Place a piece of foil on the bottom.
Step 7
Lay out the dough, cover tightly with foil and bake in an oven preheated to 160 degrees until tender. I got 1 hour 30 minutes. Then pierce the pudding with a toothpick in several places and pour the cognac over so that it is well absorbed into the ruding.
Step 8
Wrap in paper, then put in a bag. Store until Christmas. Sprinkle with icing sugar or icing before serving, or garnish the pudding as desired.
