Donuts with jam, made from bread

You can make these donuts spicy by adding 0.5 tsp each to the dough. ginger powder, cinnamon, ground cardamom, and some grated nutmeg and cloves.

Ingredients
  • 1 stale white loaf without crusts
  • 200 ml cream with a fat content of 30-38% + more if necessary
  • 2 eggs
  • a pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp. l. sugar and flour
  • 3 tbsp. l. corn starch
  • any thick fruit jam or jam
  • deep fat oil
  • icing sugar with cinnamon

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
Cut the loaf into 1 cm cubes. Pour in the cream and stir. If some of the bread remains dry, add some more cream. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes.
Step 2
Beat eggs with salt and sugar until smooth and add to the bread mass. Stir until smooth. Sift flour and starch into it and mix again. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour. You should have a fairly dense mass from which you can easily sculpt.
Step 3
At the same time spread the jam on a small board in a layer about 1.5 cm thick and place in the freezer for 30-40 minutes. Cut the frozen jam into cubes.
Step 4
Deep-fry the balls until golden brown. Remove the finished donuts with a slotted spoon on crumpled paper towels so that the glass will have excess oil. Serve hot, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.
