Grilled Spicy Cauliflower Steaks
The original sauce made from Chipotle pepper, Adobe sauce, garlic, vinegar, molasses, paprika, oregano and olive oil will give a spicy taste to cauliflower "steaks". We fry vegetable steaks, as well as meat ones - on the grill.
Ingredients
- 1 kg cauliflower
- 120 ml olive oil
- 2 canned Chipotle peppers in Adobe sauce
- 30 ml Adobe sauce
- 6 cloves of garlic
- 60 ml vinegar, sherry or red wine vinegar
- 60 g soft flavored (light) molasses
- 1.5 tsp salts
- 2 tbsp. peppers
- 1 tbsp. dried oregano
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Remove the toughest outer leaves from the cauliflower. Cut off the end of the stem to create a flat base. Keeping the cauliflower straight, cut into 4 equal pieces to form the steaks.
Step 2
Combine finely chopped Chipotle peppers with Adobe sauce, garlic, vinegar, molasses, salt, paprika, oregano and butter.
Step 3
Spread the resulting sauce over the steaks on both sides and place on the grill, cook for 7-8 minutes, until the cauliflower is soft and brown. Then turn the steak over again, cover the grill and cook for another 15-20 minutes (the knife should slide into the center of the steak with little resistance).
Step 4
Transfer the cauliflower steaks to a platter. Serve with a drizzle of lemon juice.
