Teriyaki tofu with green onions

Teriyaki tofu with chives is a popular Japanese dish, fried soy cheese with teriyaki sauce. Tofu-teriyaki can be served with almost anything - vegetables, fish, chicken, meat. Brown rice makes a vegetarian dish that is filling and light at the same time.

Teriyaki tofu with green onions
Ingredients
  • 150 g brown rice
  • 50 ml soy sauce
  • 2 st. l. peace
  • 0.5 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 st. l. Teddy bear
  • 350 g hard tofu
  • 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil
  • 1 large bunch of green onions
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 chili and half a lime to serve

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
Cook the rice until tender, following the instructions on the package.
Step 2
Combine soy sauce, mirin, grated ginger and honey in a small saucepan, add 50 ml of water. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.
Step 3
Cut the tofu into 1cm slices. Brush with butter on both sides. Grill in a skillet until dark stripes, 2 minutes. from each side.
Step 4
Trim the tips of the feathers on the onion, cut the feathers into 1 cm pieces. Cut the chili in half lengthways, remove the seeds and cut across into thin half rings.
Step 5
Arrange the rice in bowls, sprinkle with the resulting sauce. Top with fried tofu, green onions, chili and sesame seeds. Drizzle with sauce again and serve. Serve a slice of lime with each serving to drizzle over the dish.
