Mandarin pleasure-Lokum
Turkish delight (Lokum) - Turkish sweets, which are prepared on the basis of starch and sugar syrup. Lokum is easy to prepare, but it turns out to be quite sweet and tasty. Delight is mainly made in the form of cubes, but there are also round, roll and whole delight. To add color and taste, fruit and berry juices are added to the delight, sometimes food coloring is used. Delight is often prepared with fillings: nuts, figs, seeds, etc. I propose to cook aromatic tangerine delight. Lokum turns out to be tender with a pleasant tangerine taste.
Ingredients
- tangerine 7 pcs.
- 4 cups water
- sugar 3 cups
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- citric acid 2 pinches
- vanilla powder 2 g
- starch - 1 glass
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Stir and place the saucepan over medium heat.
Step 2
While stirring, simmer the sugar syrup until thick, about 10 minutes over low heat.
Step 3
Strain the resulting mixture through a sieve, separating the juice from the pulp. Or make juice in a juicer.
Step 4
Pour 1 cup water and tangerine juice into a saucepan. Add starch and stir.
Step 5
Put the pot on fire. When the mixture starts to boil, add the sugar syrup. While stirring, simmer the mixture over low heat for about 20-30 minutes until thick. Add vanilla powder at this point, if desired. The mixture should have a gel-like consistency.
Step 6
Pour the finished mixture into a rectangular shape. Leave the mixture to cool at room temperature and then refrigerate for 1 hour. Can be left in the refrigerator for longer.
Step 7
Remove the frozen delight from the mold.
Step 8
Cut the Turkish delight into 2 cm wide strips.
Step 9
Cut the strips into 2cm cubes.
Step 10
Dip each cube in powdered sugar.
