Puff turntables with honey, anise and lemon zest
When on a Sunday morning you wake up with the thought: “What could you cook so delicious for coffee or tea !?”, this is the easiest way to prepare. All you need is ready-made puff pastry in the refrigerator, and anise in the spice cabinet. Well, you probably always have honey and lemons.
Ingredients
- 15-30 g of anise seeds
- zest of 2 small lemons
- 500 g of unleavened puff pastry
- 210 g buckwheat honey
- 60-80 g butter
- coarse brown sugar
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Pour anise seeds into a preheated dry frying pan, fry the seeds over low heat for 1 minute. Pour the hot nis into a mortar and crush lightly.
Step 2
Grind the zest, add to the mortar and grind everything together.
Step 3
Spread the sheets of dough in front of you, roll out slightly to one side wide, often prick with a fork. Heat the honey slightly and brush the dough sheets evenly. Sprinkle with anise and zest mixture.
Step 4
Roll the sheets into long, tight rolls. Cut each roll into 10-12 circles of equal thickness. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment, 3 cm apart. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Step 5
Melt the butter and brush the turntables with butter using a cooking brush. Sprinkle each with a few sugar crystals. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 ° C until golden light, 20-25 minutes.
