Spicy chicken hearts with pepper and onions

Asian-style chicken hearts - with soy sauce, ginger and hot pepper.

Spicy chicken hearts with pepper and onions
  • 800 g chicken hearts
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 orange bell pepper
  • 1 red chili
  • 1 green chili
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cm fresh ginger root
  • 2 tbsp. l. extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. l. soy sauce
  • freshly ground black pepper


Step 1
Cut off the top of the hearts with vessels and excess fat. Boil water, salt, lower the hearts and cook for 20 minutes. Throw in a colander. Cut the hearts in half.
Step 2
Peel the bell peppers and chili and cut into very thin long strips. Peel and cut the onion into thin half rings.
Step 3
Peel and chop the ginger and garlic.
Step 4
In a wok or large skillet, heat oil, add ginger and garlic, sauté, 30 sec. Add chili and bell peppers, fry for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Add the hearts to the wok and fry, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes. Season with black pepper and soy sauce. Serve immediately.
