Tava kebab

A beautiful and hearty Turkish eggplant dish with lamb will appeal to all lovers of this cuisine.

Tava kebab
Ingredients
  • minced lamb 500 g
  • eggplant 2 pcs.
  • tomatoes 2-3 pcs.
  • bell peppers 1-2 pcs.
  • zira 0.5 tsp.
  • paprika 0.5 tsp.
  • olive oil 4 tablespoons
  • onion 1 pc.
  • black pepper 0.5 tsp
  • salt 0.5 tsp
  • water 150 ml

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
Finely chop the onion and mix it with the minced lamb. Add paprika, cumin, pepper and salt. Pour in the oil. Stir well, beat off a little and leave for half an hour.
Step 2
Wash the vegetables. Cut the eggplants into 5-6 cm long cubes. Cut the pepper into large strips. Cut the tomatoes into large slices.
Step 3
Roll the minced meat into balls 5 cm in diameter. Line a round baking sheet with foil and, alternating between meat balls and eggplant cubes, fill it, leaving free space in the middle. Put pieces of pepper and tomatoes in the middle of the baking sheet.
Step 4
Mix water and salt. Pour it into a baking sheet. Sprinkle vegetables on top with vegetable oil and send them to bake in the oven for an hour and a half. Oven temperature 190-200 degrees. Peppers, tomatoes and meatballs should be browned.
