Black Sea mussels in sauce
Mussels cooked with garlic, lime and lemongrass are an aromatic, light and healthy snack. This dish will take very little time to prepare.
Ingredients
- Black sea mussels - 500g
- Tom Yam paste - 50 g
- coconut milk - 150 g
- garlic - 5 g
- onions - 20 g
- vegetable oil - 20 g
- lemongrass - 20 g
- kaffir lime leaves - 5 g
- lime juice - 10 g
- a small pinch of salt
- cilantro -1 sprig
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Soak the mussels in running water, wash off the sand, and then clean off the excess growths with a knife.
Step 2
Mix coconut milk with Tom Yam paste (I use a store-bought one, but you can make it yourself).
Step 3
Heat a cauldron or a saucepan over an open fire and fry finely chopped onions and garlic in vegetable oil until light golden brown.
Step 4
As soon as the onion and garlic are fried, put the peeled mussels, cut lemongrass lengthwise, a couple of kaffir lime leaves into the cauldron, pour in the mixture of coconut milk and paste and cover with a lid.
Step 5
The mussels are cooked for about a couple of minutes, after which they need to be lightly salted, mixed, put on a plate and sprinkled with cilantro leaves.
