Halva with honey and nuts
Halva in the Caucasus is not made from seeds or nuts, but from the simplest products - flour, butter and honey. Of course, some nuts for a light crunch never hurt (but you can do without them).
Ingredients
- 600 g flour
- 250 g of ghee
- 250 g of honey
- 100 g walnuts
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Toast the nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat, 3 minutes. Spread hot on a towel, wrap, wait 5 minutes, then rub to remove some of the husk. Select the husked nuts and chop.
Step 2
Preheat a deep frying pan. Sift the flour and pour into the pan. Broil lightly over low heat, stirring frequently.
Step 3
Add oil and continue to fry the flour over low heat, stirring constantly, until golden brown, about 5 minutes. The mass should be crumbly.
Step 4
Pour the resulting mass with honey, add the nuts and fry, without stopping stirring thoroughly, for 10 minutes.
Step 5
Put the hot mass in a rectangular or round deep baking dish, lined with baking paper, flatten, cool completely and cut into pieces.
