Jadjik-Meze

Jajik Meze is a popular cold appetizer in Turkey. Three dishes in one are sauce, salad and soup. The dish can be compared to Russian okroshka, Bulgarian cold soup Tarator or Greek tzatziki sauce.

Ingredients
  • fresh cucumber 3 pcs.
  • garlic 2 pcs.
  • mazoni 300 ml
  • dried mint 2 pinch (s)
  • red pepper (flakes) 1 pinch (s)
  • olive oil 2 tablespoons

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
Dice cucumbers or grate. Pass the garlic through a press. If desired, you can use chopped dill.
Step 2
Beat the matsoni a little with a whisk to make the consistency more uniform. Season with salt and pepper. If you want to make a soup-like dish, add a little water.
Step 3
Put prepared garlic, fresh cucumbers, herbs in the "soup". When serving, season the soup with dried mint, paprika or sumac. Top with olive oil.
