Meatballs with cabbage and rice
Ingredients
- 300 g beef
- 300 g lean pork
- 1 large onion
- 200 g cabbage
- 1/3 cup rice
- 1 tbsp. l. dried dill
- salt, freshly ground black pepper
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Chop the beef and pork and grind through the meat grinder along with the onions.
Step 2
Cut the cabbage into thin strips and place in a bowl. Pour boiling water over and leave for 5 minutes. (If the cabbage is too tough, it is better to blanch it in salted water for 5-7 minutes.) Throw the cabbage in a colander and let the water drain completely.
Step 3
Rinse the rice and cover with boiling water, leave for 10 minutes. Then drain the water.
Step 4
Combine minced meat with rice and cabbage, add dried dill, salt and pepper. Use wet hands to mold meatballs the size of a ping pong ball. Transfer the meatballs to a double boiler and cook until tender, 30 minutes. Serve with salad.
