Plain Muffins with Sprinkles

If you're just learning how to bake, these muffins are a great option to practice. But even the most simple muffins without additives will turn out to be more interesting if you add sprinkles to them. And the glaze will give the products a complete look. Plain Muffins with Sprinkles
  • 210 g flour
  • 100 g of brown demerara sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 150 ml of milk
  • 70 ml vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 35 g icing sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. milk
  • 110 g butter
  • 210 g flour
  • 70 g of sugar
  • 70 g of brown demerara sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt


Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 175 ° C. Lubricate 12 large muffin molds with vegetable oil or insert paper inserts.

2. For sprinkling, melt the butter and cool slightly. Combine white and brown sugar, salt and cinnamon and mix with butter. Add flour and stir quickly with a spatula to make crumbs. Sprinkle the sprinkles on a piece of parchment and set aside.

3. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. In another bowl, whisk milk, butter and eggs. Pour the mixture over dry ingredients and stir quickly with a spatula.

4. Divide the dough into tins and sprinkle with sprinkles, lightly pressing into the dough. Bake for 15-17 minutes, check doneness with a wooden stick.

5. For the icing, mix the powdered sugar, vanilla extract and milk until the powdered sugar is completely dissolved.

6. Remove muffins from oven, let cool slightly, then remove from molds and cover with icing.
