Salted mackerel with pink pepper
Ingredients
- 2 fresh mackerels
- 2-3 tbsp. salts
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 tbsp pink peppercorns
- 1 tbsp grated lemon zest
- 1 bunch of dill
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Gut the fish by removing the black film from the abdomen. Cut off the head. Rinse under running water and cut into fillets. Lightly crush the pepper in a mortar.
Step 2
Sprinkle some salt, chopped dill and pepper on the bottom of the plastic container. Place the fillets, skin side down. Sprinkle with all remaining ingredients. Place the second fillet, skin side up. Above - another fillet, skin down. Sprinkle well again with spices and chopped dill. Close with the last fillet, skin side up.
Step 3
Place the lid tightly on the container and refrigerate for 2-3 days. Clean the prepared fish from salt with a paper towel soaked in water.
