Semites are an integral part of Turkish breakfast and the most popular national dish. Crispy crust with toasted sesame seeds and tender flesh inside.

Ingredients
  • water 220 ml
  • flour 250 g
  • olive oil 3 tablespoons
  • sugar 1 tbsp
  • dry yeast 1 tsp
  • salt 1 pinch (s)
  • sesame seeds 100 g
  • honey 1 tbsp.

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
ift flour. Take 150 grams
Sift flour. Take 150 grams of flour from the total. Add salt, sugar, yeast to the flour. Pour in warm water (120 ml.). Knead the dough. Add olive oil in portions. Mixing it completely into the dough each time. Then add the remaining flour in portions. Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes. It will be slightly sticky at first. During kneading, it stops sticking, becomes dense and elastic. Grease a bowl with olive oil, lay out the prepared dough. Cover the bowl of dough with plastic wrap or a tea towel and leave to rest for 30 minutes.

Divide the matched dough into four equal parts. Round each part, brush lightly with olive oil and leave for another 30 minutes. Roll out a tourniquet 80 cm long from each workpiece with your palms. Fold the tourniquet in half and twist it together. Fasten the ends together.

Combine 100 ml of water with honey, stir until the honey dissolves. Bathe each bagel in sweet water and then roll in sesame seeds. Place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Cover the bagels again with plastic wrap or tea towel and leave to rest for 30 minutes. After the bagels rise, put them in an oven preheated to 230 degrees. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
