Millet popcorn
Popcorn is made from just about anything to be used as a crunchy addition to salads and appetizers. You have to make more than two movements, but sometimes it's even interesting. Note: The popcorn chenot should be slightly overcooked.
Ingredients
- 200 g millet porridge cooked according to the basic recipe without milk
- 500 ml vegetable oil
- medium sea salt
- a mixture of peppers to taste
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
In a deep saucepan over medium heat, heat the vegetable oil to a temperature of 180-190 C (to check the heating of the oil without a thermometer, dip a dry wooden stick into it. If small bubbles immediately run around it, the oil is hot enough.
Step 2
Fry the dried porridge in portions for 40-60 seconds. Transfer the opened popcorn to a napkin and sprinkle with salt and freshly ground pepper mixture.
Step 3
Serve like any popcorn, or use as a textured addition to salads and other dishes.
