Turkish red lentil puree soup
Bright, tasty and healthy Turkish puree soup merjimek chorbasy.
Ingredients
- red lentils 1.5 glass (s)
- potatoes 2 pcs.
- onion 1 pc.
- carrots 1 pc.
- tomato paste 2 tbsp
- cumin 1 pinch (s)
- dried thyme 2 pinch (s)
- dried mint 2 pinch (s)
- butter 1 tbsp
- salt 1 tsp
- ground pepper 1 pinch (s)
- water 2.5 liters
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Finely chop the onion and fry in butter until transparent, at the end of frying add tomato paste, spices and mix.
Step 2
Dice the potatoes and grate the carrots. Rinse the lentils.
Step 3
Place the potatoes, lentils and carrots in a saucepan with cold water, bring to a boil, remove the foam, stir, reduce heat, cook on low heat without a lid until the lentils are completely boiled. Salt 5 minutes before the end of cooking. Remove from heat, add onion.
