Blueberry jam with rum
This jam is real handmade. You can't buy that in a store. When boiled, all alcohol is evaporated, and the rum leaves blueberries as a reward only their rich aroma. What else to say? Such jam will easily become an integral part of any dessert - from pie to sponge cake or meringue cake. For example, prepare a trifle with it, which is fast, uncomplicated and surprisingly tasty. Yes, even an ordinary morning toast with such a fragrant jam turns ... almost into a cake.
Ingredients
- 500 g frozen blueberries
- 500 g frozen black currant
- 380 g of honey
- 30 ml of rum
- 1-2 star anise stars
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Leave the frozen berries in a bowl of cold water for 20 minutes. Then transfer to a sieve or cheesecloth and let dry.
Step 2
Pass the berries through a meat grinder (you can not defrost them to the end) or mash them with a pestle. Put in a saucepan (bowl), add honey, stir and leave for 1.5 hours.
Step 3
Bring the berries to a boil over low heat, add the star anise (if using) and cook over medium heat for 20-30 minutes, removing the foam.
Step 4
Remove the jam from heat, add rum or other alcohol, stir. Divide the jam into jars and store in the refrigerator.
