Frozen strawberry jam
Frozen Strawberry Jam is a quick fix when summer supplies are running low. Although we use frozen strawberries in the recipe, such jam does not turn out to be faded or watery, the berries hold their shape well, since we begin to cook them before they are completely melted. And thyme adds richness to the taste. This jam can be added to cake cream, sauces, or simply served with toast for breakfast.
Ingredients
- 1 kg frozen strawberries
- 1 kg of sugar
- 1 sprig thyme
- 1/2 lemon
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Rinse frozen berries with cold water, add to a saucepan (bowl) and cover with sugar. When the berries begin to melt and produce juice, the sand gets wet and colored, start cooking.
Step 2
Add the thyme sprig to the pan. Put the saucepan on low heat, bring the jam to a boil. After boiling, increase the heat to medium and let the berries simmer for 5 minutes. Stir the berries constantly and remove the foam that appears.
Step 3
Remove the jam from heat, add lemon juice to it. Let cool, remove the thyme sprig. Pour the jam into jars and refrigerate.
