Chia jam from seaweed and cranberry
Great jam! Spicy, savory and very interesting in taste. It goes well with cheese. Can be served with fish dishes. When I found the recipe, I was surprised! It turns out that women from Sakhalin have been preparing such a delicacy for a long time. You can flavor the jam to taste. On my own, I added cranberries and chia seeds. Chia thickened the jam nicely.
Ingredients
- seaweed 300 g
- sugar 150 g
- lemon 0.5 pcs.
- white pepper 5 peas pcs.
- chili 0.5 pcs.
- cloves 1 pc.
- cranberries 50 g
- water 1 glass (s)
- chia seeds 2 tbsp.
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Prepare food for jam. Defrost frozen seaweed and boil for 5-10 minutes. Peel the zest from the lemon and squeeze the juice.
Step 2
Put the seaweed and chili in a blender.
Step 3
Grind to the state you need. I didn’t make mashed potatoes, I wanted to feel the pieces.
Step 4
Boil the syrup. To do this, boil water, add white peppercorns, cloves, lemon zest to it. Add sugar. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
Step 5
Transfer the jam to a jar and store.
