Kataifi, a popular dessert in Greece, entered the country along with the Turkish domination. The dessert itself is a combination of mouth-watering crunchy dough, nut filling and sweet syrup. It is not possible to resist !!!

- walnuts 100 g
- butter 100 g
- sugar 180 g
- water 130 ml

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Pour granulated sugar into a small saucepan, add the zest of half a lemon, put half a cinnamon stick and pour in water. Put a saucepan on the fire and bring to a boil. Boil the syrup over medium heat for a few minutes and set the prepared syrup aside.
Grind the walnuts with ground cinnamon and cloves in a blender.
Melt the butter. Grease a ceramic baking dish with this oil.
Take the kataifi dough and divide it into strips about 3-4 cm wide. Take one strip of fibers, lightly grease its edge with butter, put 1 tsp on the edge. nut filling.
Roll the dough with nuts into a roll.
Transfer the rolled rolls to a baking dish, grease with the remaining butter, sprinkle with the remaining chopped nuts and send to bake in an oven preheated to 180 ° C for 40 minutes.
After the time has elapsed, remove the kataifi from the oven and let them cool completely. Pour the syrup strained through a sieve on the cooled kataifi and leave them overnight so that the syrup is completely absorbed into the dessert.
From this amount of ingredients, 16 pieces of kataifi are obtained.
