Nigiri sushi with shrimps
Nigiri is the simplest type of Japanese sushi. All you need to do is make the right rice, mold it into balls about 6 cm long and 3 cm wide, and put something suitable on top. For example, shrimp cooked in a special way.
Ingredients
- 12 large raw shrimps
- 180 g sushi rice
- wasabi
- pickled ginger
- wasabi
- soy sauce
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Remove the shrimp heads. String each shrimp on a wooden skewer, pushing it under the shell - this is necessary for that. so that the shrimp do not curl up during cooking. Boil the salted water in a wide saucepan. Dip the shrimp on skewers and cook until the shrimp are reddened, about 2 minutes. Pour cold water over them, then let cool.
Step 2
Remove the shrimp from the skewers, peel off the shell, leaving the tails. Place the shrimp upside down on a cutting board. Make an incision along the abdomen and remove the dark intestinal vein. Turn the shrimp upside down and press firmly against the board with your fingers
Step 3
Prepare sushi rice and start sculpting balls.
Step 4
Brush each shrimp on the inside with a little wasabi, and place on the rice balls. Place the nigiri sushi on plates, with wasabi and pickled ginger next to it. Serve immediately with soy sauce.
