Solyanka from fresh cabbage

A real autumn dish! Warming, aromatic, very homemade. Despite the lack of meat, it is very satisfying. I read the recipe in some cookbook when I went to school and now it is one of my favorites. Try it, it's very simple!

Solyanka from fresh cabbage
  • white cabbage 400 gr
  • potatoes 4 pcs
  • onion 1 pc
  • ketchup Chili TM Maheev 2 tbsp
  • ketchup Tatarskiy TM Makheev 2 tbsp.
  • chili 0.5 pcs
  • bay leaf 2 pcs
  • allspice 1 pinch
  • garlic 2 cloves
  • sugar 0.5 tsp.
  • parsley for serving
  • salt to taste


Step 1
Prepare food. Peel and wash the vegetables.
Step 2
Dice the onion and garlic and fry with a pinch of sugar until light yellow in vegetable oil. Meanwhile, cut the potatoes into medium cubes and place over the onions. Fry the potatoes until half cooked. Do not salt the potatoes yet, it is necessary that it gilded a little, and the salt will draw out the juice from it and it will become watery.
Step 3
Cut the cabbage into squares, salt and knead a little with your fingers until the juice is released. Mix with finely chopped chili and 1 bay leaf (mash).
Step 4
When the potatoes are browned, we send cabbage to it. Mix gently. Cook for 5 minutes to soften the cabbage a little.
Step 5

We put Chile ketchup and Tatarsky ketchup in a hodgepodge. Season with allspice and bay leaves. Mix gently and cover with a lid.
