Sauerkraut stew

Today I decided to share a simple stewed cabbage recipe, simple but delicious.

Sauerkraut stew
Ingredients
  • pork 500 g
  • onion 2 pcs.
  • potatoes 7 pcs.
  • carrots 1 pc.
  • sauerkraut 400 g
  • tomato paste 2-3 tbsp
  • boiling water 2 cups

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
While the meat is stewing, we cut the onion into half rings. As the meat has become golden, add the onion there and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Step 2
In the meantime, cut the potatoes into cubes. Now you can throw it calmly into the cauldron and add some water.
Step 3
While all this is stewing with us, we are three carrots on a coarse grater. I always add it, even if my own homemade cabbage. And if purchased, then even more so.
Step 4
As soon as we rubbed the carrots, we begin to cut the cabbage, so that it is not long. I do not pour out the juice from the cabbage, I add the juice to the cauldron along with the carrots and cabbage. Just during this time, the potatoes were stewed a little.
Step 5
Well, now we take boiling water, dilute 2-3 tablespoons of tomato paste there, maybe a little salt, but I don't add it, since the cabbage is very salty. And now we fill in our cabbage. Cover with a lid and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. Depends on the cabbage, if homemade, then it is large for me, I simmer for 40 minutes, and if purchased, then 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, I taste the cabbage, if ready, then I turn down the heat to the smallest one and simmer for another 5-7 minutes. Then I turn it off and let it brew. After 10 minutes you can eat.
