Turkish halva from semolina
Halva is a traditional oriental sweet. An unusual recipe for halva made from ordinary semolina with pine nuts and an accent in the form of orange peel, unusual in taste and ingredients
Ingredients
- semolina 250 g
- sugar 250 g
- milk 500 ml
- butter 120 g
- pine nuts 60 g
- lemon / orange zest 1-2 tsp
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Grind most of the pine nuts. Leave some for decoration.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add nuts, zest and semolina. Fry until golden brown for 5-7 minutes.
Step 3
Heat the milk until hot, add sugar and stir until dissolved.
Step 4
Pour hot milk into a saucepan, stir and cook for 3-4 minutes, until the semolina absorbs the milk and becomes a little crumbly. Remove from heat, cover and cool at room temperature.
