Cod to Bras

Bacalhau à Bras is a traditional Portuguese dish. Bakalau is prepared from salted cod with the addition of potatoes and eggs. We will cook it from dried fish.

Ingredients
  • 400 g dried cod
  • 500 g potatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 head of garlic
  • butter to taste
  • 6 eggs
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • parsley (to taste)
  • black olives (to taste)

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
To make the Bacalhau à Bras recipe, start with soaked dried cod, peel it scales and bones, and break it open with your hands.
Step 2
Cut the potatoes into strips and the onion into rings. Saute the potatoes in a saucepan and lay on one side, drying them on a paper towel.
Step 3
In a deep saucepan, simmer the onions and garlic until golden brown, then add the dried cod pieces and cook for a couple more minutes until the oil is absorbed. At this point, add the potatoes and toss, adding lightly beaten eggs with salt and pepper.
Step 4
Stir for a few minutes, turn off heat before eggs are omelet!
Step 5
Serve Bacalhau à bras hot with parsley and black olives.
