Gozleme flatbreads with curd cheese and herbs
Gözleme flatbread is one of the traditional dishes of Turkish cuisine. They are made from unleavened dough, the filling can be varied - curd, cheese, potato, meat, even sweet. Today I made a gozleme with curd cheese and herbs.
Ingredients
- salt to taste
- ground black pepper - to taste
- greens (dill, green onions) 1 bunch (s)
- curd cheese 300 g
- wheat flour 330 g
- salt to taste
- water 180-200 ml
- vegetable oil 2 tbsp
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Sift flour into a bowl, add salt.
Step 2
Add vegetable oil. Gradually adding water, knead an elastic, not steep dough.
Step 3
Gather the dough into a ball, place in a bowl, cover with a towel and leave for 20-30 minutes.
Step 4
While the dough is resting, start filling. Rinse the greens, dry and cut.
Step 5
Add chopped herbs, salt, pepper to taste to the curd cheese and stir.
Step 6
Divide the finished dough into 10-12 parts, roll each into a ball and put in a bowl, dusty with flour, cover with a towel.
Step 7
Roll each ball into a very thin layer, until it becomes translucent, put the filling in half of the rolled circle.
Step 8
Pinch the end of the flatbread.
Step 9
Fry the cakes in a dry preheated pan on both sides for 2-3 minutes.
Step 10
Grease the fried side with butter, in the same way grease the second fried side with sweat. Place the gozleme in a pile, cover with foil.
Step 11
Serve hot.
