Rice with tofu and pork
Tofu is prized by culinary experts for its happy ability to absorb the flavors of the foods it sits with on the plate. After frying tofu with pork, we get the taste of pork, and boiling in fish broth, we notice the typical fishy taste. And adding this flavored tofu to rice makes the puzzle even more complicated.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 230 g minced pork
- 1 jalapena pepper
- 4 cloves of garlic
- a piece of ginger 4 cm
- 4 stalks of leeks
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 400-500 ml chicken broth
- 3 tbsp black bean sauce
- 1 tbsp starch
- 450 g tofu
- 400 g hot boiled rice
- basil
STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE
Step 1
Fry the minced meat in vegetable oil, about 8 minutes.
Step 2
Add chopped jalapenos, chopped garlic, grated ginger and chopped leeks. Cook, stirring frequently, until vegetables are tender, about 3 minutes.
Step 3
Add the tomato paste and black pepper and cook, stirring constantly, until the paste darkens, about 1 minute.
Step 4
Add broth and black bean sauce. Bring to a boil.
Step 5
Mix the starch and 1 tbsp. water in a small bowl until mushy, then add to the broth. Bring to a boil and cook until mixture thickens, about 1 minute.
Step 6
Add the tofu, cover and simmer until the tofu is warm (do not stir or stir or the tofu will fall apart).
Step 7
Add tofu to cooked rice and garnish with basil leaves.
