Vegetarian Tom Yam

The vegetarian tom yam tastes exactly the same as other varieties of this Thai soup. It's just that there is no meat or seafood in it. But all the spices relying on are in place - for a bright taste, aroma and benefit.

Vegetarian Tom Yam
Ingredients
  • vegetable broth - 1 l
  • fresh galangal or ginger - 15 g
  • cabbage - 150 g
  • ground chili pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • lemongrass - 1 stem
  • coconut milk - 550 ml
  • cherry tomatoes - 200 g
  • sugar - 15 g
  • fish sauce - 15 ml
  • oyster mushrooms - 45 g
  • lime juice - 15 ml
  • lime leaf - 2-3 pcs.
  • cilantro - a few twigs

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1
Chop the cabbage into small cubes. Chop galangal (ginger) and oyster mushrooms at random. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half.
Step 2
Boil galanga root, lemongrass, cabbage and chili in vegetable broth until cabbage is soft. Then put oyster mushrooms in broth.
Step 3
Add fish sauce, coconut milk, juice and lime leaves. At the end of cooking add cherry and sugar to the soup.
Step 4
Garnish with cilantro when serving.
