The meatballs are very juicy and tender due to the cottage cheese. And the sauce is simply incredibly tasty!

  • for meatballs: minced beef 400 g
  • onion 1 pc.
  • garlic (cloves) 2 pcs.
  • cottage cheese 100 g
  • egg 1 pc.
  • slices of white bread 3 pcs.
  • milk or cream 2 tbsp
  • mustard 1 tsp
  • greens to taste 1/2 bunch (s)
  • salt 1/2 tsp
  • pepper 1 pinch (s)
  • flour for breading 3 tbsp.
  • for the sauce: onion 2 pcs.
  • carrots 1 pc.
  • bulgarian pepper 2 pcs.
  • tomatoes 2 pcs.
  • tomato paste 2 tbsp
  • ketchup 3 tbsp
  • starch 1 tbsp.
  • sugar 1 tbsp
  • hot water or broth 300 ml
  • garlic (cloves) 2 pcs.
  • 1/2 bunch greens (a)
  • salt 3 pinch (s)
  • pepper 1 pinch (s)

Add finely chopped herbs and a few tablespoons of cream or milk. Mix again, season with salt, pepper, add your favorite spices and seasonings. I added nutmeg, Provencal herbs and thyme. Form meatballs from minced meat, breaded in flour and fry on both sides in vegetable oil.
